Day 2

Tuesday is a pretty standard day for most of us. We've usually just about got over the weekend and have brains in gear for yet another working week. I spent my day cooped up doing exams while staring at the torrential rain out the window... Meanwhile, it's Joe's first full day at Cannes film festival and the sun is still shining! (26 degrees in fact)

I received an email at around 10 this morning from Joe saying that he "already has to work!" and he'd had no respite between arrival, last night's do, and work this morning. But don't be fooled, this 'work' still entails a sufficient amount of partying and it's certainly glamorous!

The film festival officially starts from tonight and Sacha Baron Cohen arrived early, by yacht, dressed as his character General Aladeen from the new movie, The Dictator. He was in the company of Elisabetta Canalis, the Italian model, and together they acted out a comedy stunt for the onlookers and photographers in which it appeared Elisabetta Canalis had been thrown overboard. Cohen has been doing a series of public sketches to publicise the new movie and it didn't stop here. Following the yacht, Sacha Bailey Cohen presented himself at the established Carlton hotel, still in character, and strode down the street on camel back.

Joe then photographed stars such as Bruce Willis and Tilda Swinton followed by shooting the Cannes jury. Though didn't shoot them literally despite being unimpressed with some of the previous winners of Palm D'or.

The opening night was a success on the red carpet, here are some of the photos so far- along with a couple from last nights pink Chopard party...

Tilda Swinton

Eva Longoria

Lana Del Rey

Alec Baldwin
And from the Chopard party on the Martinez roof top last night....

I think my favourite is Tilda Swinton's dress, it's actually perfect, but I love her, so I guess I'm biased. ]

All this work looks like a lot of fun Joe... you're doing a brilliant job, have a drink for all of us!
